bird's nest soup

Ouch..A late post again.

Due to connection problem, I couldnt update my bloggie lately =(

The lifestyle in India is totally different from my comfort zone where I used to be living with for past 20 years
I couldn stand the connection problem!

Yet, I am getting used to it. Sigh..

suddenly I miss my bird's nest soup!

I miss my past holidays~

Though It's quite short, I was managed to spend it ,well, carefully enough. Haha!

During the holidays, my mom was kind of uhm, forced me to make the soup

It was likely to become my family tradition to at least try once

since I am the only one who left out, as I fleeeed and hide in india for so long

You know I am lazy,

but out of a sense of I-had-nothing-to-do, okay okay..I'll make, ok?

making the soup is simply wonderful

especially when all your hard work pays off,

you will really feel a sense of accomplishment

(Well, if you think that making a bird's nest soup is easy, then you are SO WRONG!)

It requires patience and skilled work

just like me. wakakakkaka!!

hey, this wasnt easy !

for times I felt like giving up, but keeping myself reminded that this is what I should get through before becoming a dentist,

I managed to finish all !

I am not bragging or what, it really needs PATIENCE and CONCENTRATION!

Ingredients:

1) 2-3 ounces of birds nest
2) Crushed Rock sugar
3) 2 liter of water

Steps:

1) Soak the bird nests in cold water overnight to clean them. Rinse for several times.

2) Pick out the lose feathers that stuck inside the nests. Gosh, this is hard!

Getting prepared!

Picking out the feathers. Eye POWER!!!

3) Clean the bird nests.

4) Put the bird nests in a pot and water is added.
5) Boil it and simmer bird nests for few hours, until they get soften.
6) Put some rock sugars inside.
7) Serve while it's hot. ( but I'm still prefer icy bird's nest soup,haha!!)

Ready to serve!

ok..MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !!

I love the soup, it tastes like sweet jelly

heard people will get paid for only rm10++ for picking out the feathers of 4-5 ounces of bird nests ( this will really takes whole day)

ouchh..! this is the most challenged part! and it comes out with such a low payment..

Omg!cause now only I realise..
I'm the ....

CHEAP WORKER!!!!!
